WGRZ: Woman Leads Foundation Donating Energy

Woman Leads Foundation Donating Energy

It’s been one year since a massive 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti.

In addition to 200,000 people killed, more than 2 Million people were left homeless.

In all the damage, a local woman knew there was hope.

Paige Mecca is the Executive Director of Solar Liberty Foundation.

The group provides renewable energy resources to rural areas of developing nations, specifically solar electrification, solar cookers and solar water filtration devices.

One of their electrification systems is now at work at a health Clinic in Haiti.

They’ve also sent over enough solar cookers for 30 families, and they are working to help an orphanage that’s going to be rebuilt.

If you would like to be a hero through this group, you can donate online at solarliberty.org.
