In the months leading up to the solar installation at Grace School, the school’s administrators expressed a pressing need for footwear for the students. As they explained, many of the children must walk through rough terrain to get to school. Without shoes, many cut their feet and then die of infection that cannot be treated due to the lack of medical care. With the help of our wonderful supporters, Solar Liberty Foundation was able to send 520 pairs of durable shoes with the solar equipment.
A big thanks to all who stepped up. Due to your generosity, the walk is now much safer for the children of Grace School, as they all sport their very own, brand new shoes! The sandals are very visible around Île à Vache and are being put to great use.
